doing it HIS way...: January 2015

Well, it's that time again.... Fundraiser time that is! We will submit our dossier (our huge packet of information we send to the Ukrainian government asking if we can please adopt two children) in one week! With this we send $4700. We are about $2,000 short. Overall, we still need close to $22,000. We hope to travel by March so that's a big number to raise in just two short months. However, we have no doubts, God will do it.

I am going to just highjack a post from my sweet friend Prudence about this fundraiser, because, well, I couldn't have said it better myself...

"I’m going to be super transparent here… I really don’t like being a fundraising family. I dislike filling up your Facebook feed and asking for help over and over about as much as you hate it. However, I can’t stop. The thing is… there are two kids across the ocean from me now that I would do anything to bring here. While it would be super lovely if we could do that alone, it’s just not the way it is for us right now.

I listened to a YouTube video this week of Beth Guckenberger giving her testimony in a church. Some of her words rang deep in my soul.

God loves to put people who are uneducated, ill equipped, and weak in broken places so that he can do something through them. So that in the end, the glory and credit ALL goes to him.

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t know the first thing about parenting two teens. We weren’t equipped with the thousands of dollars this process has cost. Right now, there is no way unless he continues to move. I do know this… in the end, all the glory and credit goes to Him. Obviously. There is no way we could have done any of this on our own. He has used each and every one of you to write the story of our family.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you who have prayed for us, said words of encouragement, asked about our children, and supported us financially in this process. You have been amazing, and I’m completely humbled. One of my friends once told me… “To whom much is given, much is required.” I have been given more than I could ever imagine, so I know that I will be required of much in this life."

So, here are the details...

Condo is 3BD/3BA on the bay in Orange Beach (a half mile from AL/FL line). It has deeded beach access across the street. It has an indoor and outdoor pool. You will also have access to a fishing pier and a small workout facility with dry sauna and steam room.

Additional Notes: Availability begins in May. Cleaning fee is typically $150. However, if you prefer to clean up after yourself, the owner has agreed to that.
